About

Widow Wellness Grief Support was born out of being widowed suddenly. After Jamie's husband died, she struggled to find grief counseling that felt right because most groups were geared towards older people and/or people of faith. In the months that followed, everything was up-ended and the life that had been was suddenly gone. She had to figure out who she was in this new and unwanted stage of life. For Jamie, focusing on yoga, nutrition, and travel helped her ground down into who she wanted to become.

By turning inwards, we can work to understand who we really are and what we really want.

Exploring Your Unique Grief Journey

Grief is a deeply personal experience, unique to each individual. In our sessions, we will explore where you are in your journey. For the most challenging days, we can work with a variety of techniques to help you live in the present. These techniques, such as breath work, movement, and mindfulness practices, are designed to offer immediate relief and long-term resilience.

Discovering who you are now

Experiencing profound loss often shakes us to our very core, altering our sense of identity and stability. Together, we will work on understanding who you are as a person and envisioning the future you desire. Our discussions will delve into your values, judgments, expectations, and hopes, helping you find meaning and direction as you move forward.

Creating a Safe Space for Grief

As anyone who has experienced profound loss knows, the outside world just doesn't understand. We're afforded a very limited amount of time before people want us to be "better." Our sessions are a safe and compassionate environment where you can freely express emotions that others might not understand. This space is dedicated to you and your healing process.

Exploring Faith and Belief Systems

Grief can lead us to question our faith and belief systems. While our sessions are not faith-based, we can explore various belief systems to understand where you stand now and where you wish to go. You're welcome to explore different belief systems as much or as little as you like to be able to find what feels right for you.

Building Confidence and Decision-Making Skills

The old adage of "don't make any decisions for a year" is well-intentioned but misses our reality. When we've experienced massive loss, we sometimes are forced to make huge decisions whether we want to or not. In our sessions, we can work through your core values to build a roadmap that guides your decision-making process. It's natural to question yourself during this time, and through our value-work, we aim to rebuild your confidence and help you make decisions that align with your true self.

Personalized Support and Detailed Summaries

Being able to freely express where you are is key, so during our session I take detailed notes so you don't have to. You can be fully present without worrying about remembering everything. After each session, you will receive an emailed summary highlighting key points. Additionally, I send reminders before upcoming sessions because I understand that grief brain is REAL and can make it difficult to keep track of commitments.

Let's Create A Partnership in Healing

Our work together is a partnership focused on your healing and growth. By providing a structured, supportive environment tailored to your unique grief journey, we aim to help you rediscover your strength, rebuild your confidence, and envision a hopeful future. Let's navigate this journey together, one step at a time.
